Good News as US Polished Imports Halt Decline For Time In Year

Further signs of the slowdown affecting the diamond industry have appeared with the US reporting that its polished diamond imports were largely unchanged on the year in January at $1.43 billion.

The important Indian diamond industry also reported good export figures earlier this month, while the Israel Diamond Exchange reopened its trading floor as part of a wider opening up of the Israeli economy.

January was the first month since February last year that the US Commerce Department didn’t report a significant fall on the year, according to Rapaport News.
